Dean of the Faculty of Science

The Faculty of Science derives its standing from its fundamental mission to generate and invest in knowledge, cultivate scientific talent, and champion research and innovation, as well as its responsibility to harness science in addressing contemporary challenges and anticipating future demands.

As we embark on a new chapter in the Faculty’s journey, we aspire to consolidate its academic and research excellence, advance its educational ecosystem to keep pace with rapid scientific and technological transformations, and foster an academic environment that nurtures creativity and interdisciplinary research. We are equally committed to aligning educational and research outcomes with community needs and national development priorities, in realization of Egypt’s Vision 2030.

Internationalization and the establishment of impactful partnerships stand at the forefront of our strategic priorities for the upcoming phase. We aim to achieve this by expanding collaboration with prestigious universities, research centers, and leading scientific and industrial institutions; promoting joint research initiatives and academic exchange; and opening broader horizons for our students and researchers to actively engage and compete within the regional and global scientific communities.

We firmly believe that the Faculty’s wealth of scientific expertise and human capital forms the true foundation for realizing this vision. Operating within an institutional framework grounded in quality, efficiency, and teamwork, we strive to transform ambitions into sustainable, high-impact achievements.

Our vision for the future is not merely to keep pace with scientific advancements, but to actively participate in shaping them—ensuring that the Faculty of Science at Capital University continues its mission as a beacon of knowledge, research, and innovation, and an active partner in building a more progressive and sustainable future.

Prof. Mohamed Abdel-Aziz Abdel-Mohsen Abou-Ela

Acting Dean, Faculty of Science – Capital University

Vice Dean for Graduate Studies and Research Affairs

Graduate studies and scientific research are indeed the engines for the advancement of this nation and its future. They represent the only way to meet the society’s demands and solve its problems by harnessing the collective efforts of scientists, equipping them with the tools of knowledge, responsibility, and diligent work.

I would also like to highlight that graduate studies and scientific research are among the core pillars that elevate the college, and in turn, the university and society, due to their noble goal of enhancing the intellectual and scientific levels of graduate students. The college is keen to offer its various programs in accordance with both local and international academic accreditation and quality assurance standards.

Therefore, the true and serious start of graduate studies and scientific research reflects the reciprocal relationships between scientific research, higher education, and state institutions. Success in one is closely tied to achieving success in the other.

Hence, I urge you to stay updated with the latest developments in your fields of specialization and to continually seek knowledge, so that this will lead to progress and prosperity for all of us.

I am pleased to welcome all graduate students to our college, and I ask Almighty God, the Lord of the Throne, to bless everyone who has contributed or will contribute to the development of graduate studies at both the college and university levels. May He reward all their efforts and place the good deeds they offer in their balance of good deeds. He is the Hearer and Answerer of prayers, and praise be to Allah, the Lord of all worlds.

Finally, I pray for your success and prosperity in your studies and your academic and professional lives. May peace, mercy, and blessings of Allah be upon you.

My dear students, may you be well every year, and I wish you success and prosperity. I hope this young faculty continues to progress and flourish and occupies a prominent place among its peers in our prestigious universities. This goal can only be achieved through the effort and dedication of my esteemed colleagues, the faculty members, and the regularity of my dear students in their lectures, and their determination to acquire scientific material from various sources so that they are equipped with useful knowledge that enables them to achieve their goals in life and carry the banner of scientific progress on the precious land of Egypt and Helwan University in general, and the Faculty of Science in particular, does not spare its students in providing all student services through the legitimate channels of student organizations represented in the student union.

I urge my dear students to actively participate in student activities so that the university can play its leading role alongside the scientific role.

Finally, I pray to God for your success in your studies and in your academic and professional lives. Peace, mercy, and blessings of God be upon you.

Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs

Prof. Dr. Sahar Kamal

Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs

There is a clear vision and mission for community service and environmental development affairs for community engagement, where excellence lies in continuous communication with the internal and external community to provide ideas and solutions that contribute to achieving development and growing self-resources through special units and continuous cooperation with community organizations and civil society bodies.

With the increasing interest in environmental issues and their protection, and the state's concern for preserving what surrounds us from dangers, attention has been directed towards its preservation through participation and awareness. The Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs sector is concerned with drawing up the general policy and preparing the necessary plans to preserve and develop the environment, in addition to studying the needs of the college community and the surrounding community for awareness and technical support, and following up on them in coordination with the competent authorities. This indicates the importance of this vital sector, and therefore the organizational structure of the college includes an agency for community service and environmental development affairs.
